"Jon?" Zoe asks hesitantly from the other side of the bathroom door. "That is you in there, right? Are... You're alone in there, right?"

April fumbled for the stone. Steam and condensation make small smooth stones very slippery, and when someone, not naming names, decides to grab a small slippery stone with sudden panicked urgency, it's completely natural that it could just pop out of the hand and require a few seconds of cartoonishly trying to catch an item of cosmic power while getting more and more panicked each time it slips out. But finally, April, not saying it was her, pinned the stone against her chest and whispered a wish.

"I wish that whenever I transform, reality changes to match whoever I become."

This time, there was that odd feeling of reality updating. The changes in the bathroom could have been easy to miss, if this wasn't a place April, as Jon, had been many times a day for years.

The towels were a bit different. There were more bottles of random hair products that Jon had always been annoyed that Zoe had filled every shelf with. The clothes on the floor were no longer the simple t-shirt and jeans that Jon had been wearing. It was a white blouse with a navy skirt. All around were small changes.

The knock at the door repeated itself.

"April? Are you okay in there?" Zoe asked, quietly. Her usual persona didn't have space for concern.

"I'm fine, Zoe. Just fine. Give me a minute and I'll be out."

Another wish, with many pitfalls. April would love to have a moment to see herself dressed up, but her heart was beating a bit fast. It was time to let Jon do some homework and some thinking. How had this scenario never come up in all of his fantasizing? She'd have words with him, if they were separate people. But they weren't so she wouldn't because that would be crazy and she wasn't crazy. She was magic, or something. Whatever.

Rolling her eyes at her train of thoughts again, she reached into the shower and turned it off. The towels reverted, as did the blouse on the floor. Jon dried himself as best he could, dressed up in the day's clothes, and tried to walk normally past his sister, who was reading some vampire book. At least, he presumed that's the sort of book that would have "a Lillith Darknight novel" on the cover.

Nothing makes you walk as weird as trying to walk normal. Jon stumbled, and his eyes went wide as the wishing stone fell from his hand. Again, although that was April, not Jon. It rolled up against Zoe's foot and for the second time in the last hour, Jon's heart leapt into his chest, but this time, at least so far, no boobs came with it.
