"Life is good." Michelle thought as she ran along side her fellow walk-on Kai. The pair were close to finishing up their 8 mile run, and the sun was starting to rise in the East. "Let's finish strong." She said as they quickened their pace as they ascended the hill.
The hour that they had been running had given Michelle plenty of time to explore her new memories. "There's nothing more to change." Michelle thought as they crested the hill. "I've still got my besties." Michelle pictured a photograph of Millie, Meg, Ryanne, and herself eating ice cream cones together. "I'm smart. I'm healthy. I'm cute." In Michelle's mind her good vibes were buoyed by memories of her acing tests, working out, and cosplaying with Meg. "There's nothing more to change about myself. I'm happy the way I am." Michelle thought as her and Kai passed a group of guys setting up for a tailgate.
"You going to the game today?" Kai asked as the two pushed on with their run.
"Nah. You know football isn't my thing." Michelle said as the pair began to descend a small hill.
"Come on girl. You know it would be fun." Kai was always trying to get Michelle to get out of her comfort zone.
"Not today." Michelle briefly pointed at another group of guys setting up for a tailgate. "I've got to start studying for my organic exam today with Meg."
"Booo!" Kai teased back.
"One of these days I'll go to a game with you, but not today." Michelle said as the two were approaching the end of their run.
Reaching the edge of the parking lot Michelle and Kai could see their teammates standing next to their vehicles cooling down. "You think we'll ever be able to keep up with them?" Kai asked wiping her face off with the t-shirt she had been carrying in her hand.
Michelle bent over and placed her hands on her knees to catch her breath. "No." She said taking a couple deep breaths. "Well maybe you will, but I don't think I'm ever keeping up with them." Michelle stood back up straight and wiped the sweat off her face with her long sleeve t-shirt. "These little legs are just too short to keep up with them. It's physics." She said letting out a laugh.
As the two walked over to their teammates they had to make their way around more tailgaters that had begun to fill up the parking lot. "Watch out!" Kai said catching an errant volleyball that was on it's way to hit Michelle. "That was close." She said spinning the volleyball in her hands. "Here, you hit it back to them." Kai said tossing the ball over to Michelle.
"Is this a short joke?" Michelle said smirking at her teammate. "You think I know how to hit a volleyball? I'm too short for a middle school volleyball team. I've never played volleyball in my life." Michelle said spinning the ball in her hands.
"O come on. Those guys are cute. Hit it back to them and maybe we can go talk to them." Kai said pointing towards the group of guys who had been hitting the volleyball around.
"Fine." Michelle spun the ball a couple more times, tossed it up in the air, and smacked it back towards the group of guys. Rather than flying through the air to the group of guys, the ball hit the concrete in front of Michelle and skipped off in the general direction of the guys. Michelle's face went red and she turned away from the guys who were trying to chase down the ball. "Well how was my form. Did I look like a volleyball pro?" Michelle asked she tried to hold back embarrassed laughter.
Kai was doing her best to not bust out in laughter, but a few chuckles escaped her mouth. "Sorry." Kai said regaining her composure. "Well if you were about foot taller and had a better vertical your form would have looked better, but all things considered you looked good. If I didn't know you ran cross country I would have guessed you were a volleyball player." Kai said chuckling at Michelle.
Michelle laughed along with Kai as the pair walked over to their teammates. "That's weird..." Michelle's shoes felt tight and her leggings felt like they were ridding up her butt. "I just got these shoes they shouldn't..." An orange ray of sunshine caught the Michelle in the corner of the eye. "THE CURSE!" Michelle's inner monologue cried out as a familiar tingle returned to her body. "NO NO NO NO!" Michelle began to panic as her perspective began to shift. Suddenly her teammates didn't seem so tall anymore. "Shit Shit Shit!" Michelle glanced at Kai out of the corner of her eye. "We're the same height... Kai is like 5'5".... O... Shit..." In Michelle's head she could hear Kai saying that she needs to be a foot taller. "I'm gonna be five ten... five eleven... Well five ten and a half when I'm done growing." Michelle did her best to stay cool as she approached the height of her tall blonde blonde teammate. "Everything is going to be fine." Michelle told her self as the muscles in her legs began to spasm. "Ugh... Please stop..." The muscle spasm were starting to drive Michelle nuts so she pulled her long sleeve t-shirt up over her face like she was wiping sweat from her forehead. "Oooo... Finally...." The spasms stopped and Michelle felt her clothes restructure herself to fit her new enlarged body.
"Same time tomorrow." Lillian said heading towards her car.
"6am!" Abby, the once towering blonde, said as she headed towards her Bronco.
"You walking back?" Kai asked Michelle.
"Yeah I think I will. It will help me cool off." Michelle said rolling her head from side to side.
"Alright, but be careful. Don't cause any traffic accidents with that ass of yours." Kai said heading towards her car.
"I won't!" Michelle blurted out, before she turned around and began the walk back to her flat. "So what happened to my ass?" Michelle asked herself as she weaved between cars. Pausing for a brief moment to study her reflection in the side of a silver Honda, she was able to make out a very round athletic butt. "O..." Michelle nodded at her reflection and continued her walk back to flat. "So I'm tall... I have a nice ass... I have a good vertical... But I don't play volleyball... But I am a pretty good high jumper... Good enough that I almost walked on for that..." New memories began popping up in Michelle's brain as she further explored her new life. "I've got the same roommates... I'm still a chemistry major... I'm still a walk-on on the cross country team... I'm still a good student... Has anything major changed?.." Michelle asked herself as she turned onto the sidewalk.
Suddenly a hand smacked Michelle on the ass. "Nice ass!" A familiar female voice caused Michelle to spin around.
"Elli!" Michelle gasp in fear. "What are you... I... Um... I did it. Please... Please don't turn me into the queen of the trailer park." Michelle fell to her knees as she pleaded with Elli.
"Get up dummy." Elli motioned with her hand and Michelle popped back up to her feet. "I'm just here to tell you the curse is over and..." Elli paused and studied Michelle's tall athletic body. "You passed. I'm not going to turn you into the queen of the trailer park, in fact if you want I can turn you back to Mitch."
"NO!" Michelle blurted out. "Please don't turn me back into Mitch... He's a disgusting foul human-being..." Michelle shuddered at the idea of becoming her original self, even though she could barely remember who Mitch was. "Please just leave me as I am now..." Michelle felt tears begin to form in the corner of her eyes. "I love the me that I am now. I don't want to go back to who I was, I just want to life this life."
"Okay." Elli said smiling at Michelle. "I'll let you live this life." Elli turned to leave, but then turned back. "And to answer your question, what changed is you have a boyfriend now." In Michelle's head a picture of her boyfriend Nick came into focus. "But that was the only major change from your little growth spurt. Well aside from girl's being jealous of that ass of yours." Elli once again smiled at Michelle. "Well I must bid you ado." She said bowing and disappearing from sight.
The fearful tears that had formed in the corner of Michelle's eyes became tears of joy as a rush of dopamine flowed through Michelle's body. "I'm free..." She mumbled. Taking a deep breath she pictured herself and her short prince Nick standing with their friends last summer at the lake. _"I love you guys..." Michelle thought as she opened her eyes and looked up at the orange morning sky.
